Guwahati: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Assam unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with AAP Mahila Morcha staged a protest to save Dehing-Patkai Rainforest from Coal Mining in Guwahati’s Panjabari area on Friday morning.
The AAP committee in Assam also planted tree saplings in various districts of Assam and conducted awareness programs across the state of Assam.
In Guwahati city, the entire activities were held under the aegis of APP Coordinator Madhurjya Saikia. The team had distributed tree saplings to the medical staff of GNRC Hospital and Nemcare Hospital.
Furthermore, the AAP unit of Guwahati raised an awareness program on noise pollution and pasted stickers on the road-side two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Other AAP party members who were present in the programs were joint convener Abdul Wahid, Rama Parihar, AAP Mahila Morcha Anjali Brahma, Anupama Boro among others.
