Guwahati: The Times of India Group said on Saturday that its daily publication, the Mumbai Mirror, will be relaunched as a weekly while the Pune Mirror will cease publication. The media group noted that the newspaper industry was among the hardest-hit during the COVID-19 pandemic and said that it had also been "weighed down by an import duty that has added to newsprint costs."
Following the announcement, the Editor of Mumbai Mirror, Meenal Baghel, thanked her team and former colleagues for helping build the newspaper.
Baghel took to Twitter saying, “Thank you, everyone, for your messages. But a very special thank you to the entire team @MumbaiMirror and all the former colleagues who built the newspaper up from scratch. It has been such a privilege to head this newsroom.”
