City Police Collect Rs 37,000 as fines on Day 3 of Guwahati Lockdown

Guwahati: City Traffic Police collected Rs 37,000 as fines from violators and arrested 5 persons on Day 3 of Guwahati Lockdown on Wednesday.

As per a press statement, Guwahati Traffic Police stated that till 5 pm the total numbers of vehicles detained for Lockdown violations in Guwahati were:

2 wheelers-25, 3 wheeler-09, 4 wheeler-24, 6 wheeler-0

Total numbers of vehicles detained-58

Total number of cases registered till evening was – 02 nos.

Fine realised in connection with non-wearing of mask:- Rs 11,500

Notably, Assam Government had announced total lockdown in Guwahati City from Sunday midnight onwards.

Earlier, addressing the media at the NHM office, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the lockdown will continue till July 12, 2020.

Amid the rising cases of COVID 19 cases in Guwahati City, the Government of Assam has come to the conclusion of enforcing total lockdown in the city.

Also, the night curfew has been enforced in the entire State from 7 pm onwards.
