51 wild animals die, 102 animals rescued by the Forest Official/CWRC team
Kaziranga: As many as 51 wild animals died and a total of 102 animals have been rescued by the Forest Official/CWRC team and local people at Kaziranga National Park during floods this year, according to a report by the forest department.
As per a forest report, out of the 223 forest camps in Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, Biswanath Wildlife Division and Nagaon Wildlife Division, a total number of 173 camps have been inundated till date, whereas, 14 camps were vacated.
Meanwhile, water level trend in the last 4 days reports below the danger level at Pasighat and Dibrugarh, whereas, the water level at Nimatighat, Numaligarh, Dhansirimukh and Tezpur are still above the danger level.
Death reports of the animals: so far 86 hog deer, 1 Swamp Deer, 1 Rhino, 10 Python, 1 Tiger, 3 Turtle has died in the floods.
