SILCHAR FEB 10: In a bid to accord better health facilities, the Cachar district adminstration extended support to the Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre procuring an ambulance through the Government e Marketing ( GeM) portal with financial help accorded by the Airport Authority of India's Silchar office under their CSR project coinciding the hospital's 25th year of service to the society on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli greeted the hospital fraternity headed by Padma Shri Dr R Ravi Kannan, director of the hospital and said " this is the first procurement through GeM portal by any district adminstration in the state.
Dr Ravi Kannan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the District Adminstration and Airports Authority of India for their support and said that the ambulance shall be helpful in the outreach activities for screening and treatment of patients across the vicinity. Silchar Airport Director PK Gorai expressed his happiness and said that the AAI shall continue to fulfill the commitment towards the society.
