In an unfortunate incident, onboard Rajdhani Express-02423 (going from Dibrugarh to New Delhi) caught fire early this morning at Fakiragram in Kokrajhar district of Assam.
As per reports, after the train left from Kokrajhar railway station when the wheel of the AC 3 tier B-7 coach number 143116/C caught fire. Seeing the smoke, passengers inside the train pulled the chain and stopped the train.
Sources informed that passengers including several soldiers were traveling on the train.
Notably, local railway personnel RPF, GRP CRPF and local police immediately reached the spot for help.
No casualties were reported during the incident.
Meanwhile, Fire tenders also reached the spot and about 30 minutes later the fire was brought under control.
Following the incident, the Rajdhani Express was halted at Fakiragram at 10:04 am and left for New Delhi at 11:06 am.
