GoA allots Rs 37.70 crore for development of 377 religious places under Asom Darpan Scheme

Guwahati: Under the Asom Darpan Scheme (phase 2), at least 377 religious places in Assam have been selected to develop their infrastructure.

The Transformation and Development Department, Government of Assam on Thursday allotted Rs 37.70 crore for this at Rs 10 lakh per site.

Notably, the Transformation and Development Department earlier sanctioned Rs 91.60 crore for the development of the historical and religious places of Assam for phase 1 of the Asom Darpan Scheme.

A total of 916 institutions were sanctioned & a budget of Rs 91.60 cr was released for the development of infrastructure of these places.

Asom Darpan Scheme was introduced in the year 2019-20 to preserve the heritage & culture of places of historical & religious importance of Assam.
