Delhi: At a time when the Governments of Delhi and Haryana used force to stop the protesting farmers from entering Delhi, the ongoing farmers' protests are tuning out to be one of the biggest of its kind India has seen in recent years and the demonstrators are only likely to step up the ante.
At several places, the cops used force - water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Several videos went viral showing the protesters serving food and water to the cops.
The protesters have largely maintained peace and some of their gestures are winning hearts.
Navdeep Singh, a farmer protester who was seen climbing a water cannon and turned it off had said that he, like others is not angry at the police for their actions, as they are also children of farmers and were only doing their duty.
The farmers say they are ready to protest as long as it takes to get the government to reverse its decision on the newly enacted farm laws.
They said they have come prepared with food rations for six months.
Meanwhile, the farmers were allowed to enter Delhi, and have been permitted to hold peaceful protests at Nirankari ground in Burari.
