In-house guests of the hotel or resort may be allowed to dine in up to the usual time of operation
GUWAHATI: E-commerce services in the state can operate even after 6 PM, said a fresh standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Assam on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the state government while issuing an SOP restricted all shops, markets, shopping malls to operate their business till 6 PM only in districts where Covid 19 cases have crossed 100. In Assam, some 16 districts have recorded to have over 100 cases so far.
The SDMA in its latest SOP has also allowed the restaurants, dhabas and other eateries to entertain dine-in guests only up to 6.00 pm.
“However, take away, home delivery is allowed up to the usual time of closure as per local regulations,” the SOP said.
The SOP added that restaurants operating within a hotel or resort can allow outside guests up to 6 PM only. However, in-house guests of the hotel or resort may be allowed to dine in up to the usual time of operation.
“Cold storages and warehouses may continue beyond 6 PM. However, sale counters, showrooms, etc. attached to these warehouses or cold storages shall close after 6 PM,” the SOP added.
Pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres and veterinary clinics were allowed to operate without restrictions being providers of essential and emergency services.
Assam recorded 1651 fresh cases on Tuesday while three patients died. The state has at least 7685 active Covid cases so far. The city recorded 742 fresh cases on Tuesday too. Assam’s positivity rate stood at 2.46 % till Tuesday.
