Imphal: In what could be termed as an apt initiative during this global pandemic, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched a website (www.manipurcovidstories.org) to share COVID-19 related stories and information in the state on Saturday.
The web portal will also work as a tool to monitor volunteering activities in the state by different stakeholders and acknowledge the people’s involvement in the fight against the pandemic.
The website, which is managed by the department of health and family welfare and conceptualized and designed by Fluorescence Communications, will have sections of stories in the form of texts, photo features and videos.
According to CM Singh, the web portal features crowd-sourced stories collected from people who have been COVID-19 positive and recovered, volunteers who have worked at quarantine centers, selfless work carried out by individuals, NGOs, civil society organisations (CSOs) and medical professionals, among others.
In a televised interview, Singh said: “The platform will act as source of positivity and showcase such stories that will highlight the perseverance and determination of the people of Manipur in fighting the global pandemic within the tiny state.”
He also urged people in the state to share and contribute their inspiring stories while fighting against the infectious virus.
As on Sunday, Manipur recorded a total of 1,325 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the total number of recovered persons (667) has surpassed the active cases (658).
The recovery rate has also increased to 50.33%.
