GUWAHATI: A ray of hope for all the heartbroken IPL fans by the COO of Rajasthan Royal, Jake Lush McCrum.
Rajasthan Royal's had organized a fan meet on Zoom app where McCrum and some of the players interacted with fans.
He said, “There are lot of stories in the press, but what I can say based on our conversation with the BCCI is, they are working really hard to find a solution. They are an agile association and can make it happen. We are confident that IPL will happen this year.”
In regards to the timeline, he mentioned, “We are preparing for the September-November window. But nothing has been finalized as of now given the situation at hand. The great thing about BCCI is they have put together the tournament at a very short notice as well in South Africa in 2009, they can do it again.”
The craze of IPL is so high even within the participating game, that the CEO of Kings XI Punjab, Satish Menon told to Hindustan Times, "The onus will be on BCCI and the Indian government whether they think IPL13 can be organised anytime soon. I think the safety of players and the nation comes first. It would be great for the players, franchises and for the brand if IPL happens even if it is behind closed doors…”
It seems like the talk of IPL hasn't left the mind of BCCI yet and if things go well, fans can live there IPL days, later this year.
