Guwahati: Its a historic day for Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve, as the Government of Assam has approved the 7th, 8th and 9th Additions to Kaziranga National Park and published the Preliminary Notifications on Thursday.
The additions includes encroachment evicted areas and suitable wildlife habitat at riverine islands (chaporis) which were also vulnerable to encroachment.
It is a move to consolidate the wildlife areas anticipating better wildlife conservation and reduction in human wildlife negative interactions in future.
7th addition 176 ha (Deosur, Palkhowa, Deosur Hill PRF), Nagaon District
8th addition 307 ha (Banderdubi), Nagaon District
9th addition 2570 ha (Mokua chapori), Sonitpur District
