Leaders sitting in opposition are confusing the farmers over agricultural reforms: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday alleged that the leaders sitting in opposition are confusing the farmers over the agricultural reforms.

PM Modi addressed the citizens at the foundation stone laying ceremony of several development projects in Kutch, Gujarat.

“I am giving this example in detail because nowadays a big conspiracy is going on around Delhi to confuse the farmers. They are being scared that after new agrarian reforms, others will occupy the land of the farmers,” said PM Modi.

“Recent agricultural reforms have been demanding for years. Many farmers’ organizations had also demanded earlier that food grains should be given an option to sell anywhere. Today those who are confusing the farmers by sitting in opposition, were also in support of these agricultural reforms at the time of their government. But during his government, he could not take the decision, he gave false comfort to the farmers. Today, when the country has taken this historic step, these people have started confusing the farmers. I am once again telling my farmer brothers and sisters that the government is ready round the clock to solve their every doubt. The interest of farmers has been one of the top priorities of our government since day one. We have worked continuously to reduce farmers' expenditure on agriculture, get new options, increase their income, reduce the difficulties of farmers. I believe, the honest intention of our government,” PM Modi added.

It is to be noted that the Union Government introduced a set of agricultural reforms, in three separate bills, which were very quickly enacted as laws.
