Lurinjyoti confirmed alliance with Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dol, says “Our alliance with Raijor Dol is final”
Raijor Dol chief Akhil Gogoi had an official closed-door meeting with the AJP chief Lurinjyoti Gogoi at the GMCH premises on Thursday.
Raijor Dol chief Akhil Gogoi, who is undergoing treatment at the GMCH, called on the AJP leadership to unite for the defeat of the BJP in the state. "All regional forces need to unite. No alliance with any communal-nationalist party," Gogoi reportedly said.
Speaking to the media, Lurinjyoti Gogoi confirmed that the alliance with the newly formed Raijor Dol is final and the final declaration of the same will be notified through a press conference.
As per sources, the closed-door meeting between both the parties held for about two hours at GMCH cabinet No. 26.
The leadership of both the parties discussed in detail the direction of seat-sharing in the upcoming assembly elections, sources informed.
There is no alternative to united-nationalism. Nationalist votes should not be divided; Assam should establish its rights. "It is a struggle for that," Lurinjyoti said. "Akhil Gogoi is being held captive with a non-democratic fascist mentality,” he added.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi further informed that the AJP is in talks with the BPF to form an alliance to defeat the BJP.
Lurinjyoti was accompanied by AJP General Secretary Jagadish Bhuyan during the meeting.
