Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' to release globally in April

Mumbai, Mar 14 Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's much-awaited actioner "Sooryavanshi", directed by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, is set to open theatrically on April 30 worldwide, the makers announced Sunday.

The cop-action-drama was originally scheduled for a release on March 24 last year, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which led to theatres shutdown across the country.

Kumar took to Twitter to share the release date announcement video of the film.

"We promised you all a cinematic experience and that's what you will get. The wait is finally over! Aa Rahi Hai Police. #Sooryavanshi releasing worldwide in cinemas on 30th April 2021," Kumar captioned the video.

The new teaser of features footage from the trailer launch of the film -- attended by its cast, including Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and producer Karan Johar -- held on March 2 last year.

When the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown was announced later that month, "Sooryavanshi" became one of the first Bollywood tentpoles to halt its release.

"But we promised our audience that 'Sooryavanshi' will be back in theatres when the time is right. We know it's been a year. But a promise is a promise. And guess what? The wait is finally over. Aa Rahi Hai Police," the text in the video read.

"Sooryavanshi" is the fourth film in Shetty's cop universe after Devgn's "Singham", "Singham Returns", and Singh's "Simmba".

The upcoming film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films.

Users criticize much hyped ‘FAU-G’ with banned ‘PUB-G Mobile’

After much anticipation and delays, FAU-G: Fearless and United Guards, the action game was unveiled for Android users on January 26, 2021. However, the game is facing mass criticism from gamers with a significant increase in one-star reviews.

Some of the reviews carrying one-star ratings are specifically around the experience that the users found as inferior over their expectations. However, there are many one-star reviews in which users compared FAU-G with PUBG Mobile.

Several PUBG fans have widely criticized FAU-G in their reviews on Google Play for not being at par with the game that got banned by the government. The mass criticism has resulted in a sudden drop of FAU-G rating to 3.2 stars — from 4.5 stars a few days back. Nevertheless, at the time of writing, FAU-G continues to remain the top free game on Google Playstore in India.

One of the users giving one-star rating to FAU-G wrote on Google Play saying, “What I actually expected was that it will replace the position of PUBG, but when I played it, I realised that it is [the] worst game I ever played in my life. This thing is really disappointing.”

Interestingly, shortly after its debut last week, FAU-G surpassed five million downloads and became the top free game on Google Play. The top berth is still held by the game on Google Playstore, though with a large number of negative reviews.

Notably, FAU-G was announced just after the government banned PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in the country in September. It was initially believed as an alternative to PUBG Mobile. However, instead of offering a battle royale experience along with a number of weapons to choose from, FAU-G debuted with simpler gameplay that involved fistfights with enemy groups.

Nevertheless, FAU-G is planned to add ‘free for all' and 5v5 ‘Team Deathmatch' modes as well as a battle royale mode in the future. The game is also currently limited to Android devices, though it is expected to reach iPhone and iPad models at a later stage.
