In a major breakthrough, the sleuths of the Excise Intelligence Bureau (EIB) Guwahati carried out a raid in the dwelling house of one Dilip Hazarika at Chandamari village of Gohpur under Biswanath District and seized around 586 Arunachali-made IMFL bottles on Saturday.

As per EIB officials, the above seized items were supposedly meant for sale in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Description of the seized items:

9 star whisky 180 ml- 188 nos

Red star beer- 1 case

MCD No 1: 750 ml- 1 case (7 bottles)

MCD No 1: 180 ml- 1 case (23 bottles)

MCD No 1: 375 ml- 6 bottles

MCD Rum 375ml- 2 bottles

MCD Rum 180 ml- 13 bottles

IB 180 ml- 168 bottles

IB 750 ml- 1 case

IB 375 ml- 8 bottles

Kingfisher Beer 500 ml- 1 case

Royal Stag 375 ml- 11 case

Royal Stag 750 ml- 4 bottles

Royal Stag 180 ml- 5 bottles

8 PM 375 ml- 3 bottles

8 PM 180 ml- 3 bottles

Jolly Roger Rum 180 ml- 2 bottles

Old monk Rum 180 ml- 3 bottles

Tuborg Beer 500 ml- 10 bottles

DS Black 750 ml- 1 bottle

 

Total Quantity – 586 bottles

Meanwhile, the accused person has been handed over to Inspector of Excise, Gohpur Excise Circle for further investigation.

It is to be noted that ahead of the ensuing Assam Assembly Polls, the Department of Excise earlier notified the following helpline numbers for receipt of intelligence input about illegal production/storage/sale of liquor and to receive the grievances and information of violation of rule and distribution of liquor among voters to influence voting.
