2021 polls: AASU-AJYCP all set to take on BJP; floats new outfit 'Assam Jatiya Parishad'

Guwahati: AASU-AJYCP on Monday finally launched their political front namely ‘Assam Jatiya Parishad’ ahead of the 2021 assembly polls in the state.

The name was announced by the conveners of the 16-member- Assam Advisory Committee convenors Krishna Gopal Bhattacharya and Basanta Deka in Guwahati.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Basanta Deka informed that the organizational work at the 25 districts in the state is already on the move and will complete by October 30, 2020.

With the slogan “Ghorey Ghorey Aami” (We will be in every household), the new party aims to overthrow the current BJP-led coalition government in the state.

Former AASU leader Chittaranjan Basumatary has been made in-charge of Jonbai, and Dhemaji.

Raju Phukan has been made in-charge of Golaghat, Jorhat and Bokakhat.

Former state minister Jagadish Bhuyan has been made the coordinator of the party.

The induction of members into the party will begin from Tuesday onwards.
